Circus Tents

I like the colorful, whimsical, wonky, and weirdness of circuses.  They invite that lifestyle of the gypsy sort.  Life on the road, performing, working with animals, costumes, etc…  Okay, so I’ve thought about running away to join the circus before.  I even used to be quite flexible.  But, alas, I am here safe and sound in middle-lower class America.  No jumping through flaming hoops while doing a split.

Being more serious, circus tents have great symmetry, and lend themselves to great patterning.  They are a residence for people and animals, quick to put up and take down.  You can’t see what’s going on inside them, so they’re a bit mysterious.  Here are a couple of recent tents:

Definitely looks like a bloody background (it's alcohol ink)

My favorite- the music is from an very old Mother Goose book

  1. There’s really no reason why you can’t jump through flaming hoops while doing the splits right there middle class USA. Maybe while making dinner? :-)

The tents are great! The trim on the first one looks like a tatted cloverleaf!

  2. J’aime le francais, aussi.
