Does Anyone Know What These Are?

I’m a Goodwill/Flea Market/Yard Sale/Salvation Army fanatic.  I’m amazed at the things I can find and how cheap I can get them.  I got a bag of these things the other day at The Salvation Army and have no idea what they are.  I think they’re glass.  They do have a seam.  I don’t think they’re too old.  They have a shell design on the front/top side and a little hole-like thingy on the backside.  They almost look like a game piece…I like them a lot and would love to know what their original purpose was.

  1. When I worked at Grand City 20+ years ago, we sold something like that except they had a little wire corkscrew coming out of the hole. They were for fastening doilies/antimacassars onto the back or armrest of your chair/sofa. Since these do not have the wire or pin, I really am stumped.

  2. I thought they were what Beth said… upholstery pin thingies minus the corkscrews. But what a fun find! Looking forward to seeing what you do with these.

  3. Yes, that makes sense. They had a sticker on the bag that said “SOLD AS IS.” I bet they’re missing the corkscrew. Neat-O. Thanks!
