Workshop with Red Hatters

Five fantastic ladies (four of which where Red Hat Society members) made some gorgeous bracelets last night at one of my workshops at Bath Adult Ed.  I was quite impressed with their abilities.  They were quick learners and fantastic company.  Here are only two pieces that they made as the other photos I took turned [...]

T-Shirt Dress

For a while now I’ve wanted to make Sophie a T-shirt dress.  I’ve seen them all over Pinterest and they seem so easy to make.  I found a fantastic pattern but made one significant mistake;  I began with a T shirt that was much to large for the dress pattern, resulting in a somewhat wonky [...]

Workshop: Earrings Extravaganza!

I taught “Beaded Earrings Extravaganza” through Merrymeeting Adult Ed last week.   With a few basic instructions on how to make and open wire loops, people were off and running!  Here are a few examples of their work:         Beautiful!  Just marvelous!

For the Love of Bags

We are pet sitting a loud and demanding amazon parrot as well as a mischievous Jack Russell Terrier.   Those two, along with our own sweet little birdy, our genius German Shepherd, two chickens, our fantastic cat and… oh yeah, our two busy kids, life has been a bit shall we say… fast paced.  I [...]

It’s So Awesome Outside

I’m feeling great about the amazing weather we’re having.  I’ve already been in the garden and have accomplished some pretty major spring cleaning.  My crocuses are a-bloomin’ and I’ve begun another Amy Butler Cosmos Bag in honor of them.  It is full of typical crocus colors; purple, orange, white, and green.  I’ve got big visions [...]

Awesome Swap Goodies!

I just received these AMAZING goodies from my friend, Jenny Lee (www.texterial.com).  We recently conducted a bead/pendant/charm swap.  I love all of these- what an amazing gift!  I even tried to copy the purplish-yarn-ball-with-beads-and-wire pendants but failed miserably!  Thank you Jenny, I’m so thrilled with your creations.  I can’t wait to assemble them into jewelry [...]

Pendant Class

Last night I taught a wonderful yet challenging beaded pendant class.  Students worked primarily with headpins, eyepins, and jump rings to create these beautiful works of art.  Working with metal wire is definitely more demanding than stringing beads but these ladies made it look easy.  And again, please excuse the dog and cat hair, it [...]

Nellie Week 3

I completed a very fun project for my Nellie No Friends homework this past week:  I designed buttons and a button card.  This would be such a fun swap!  My buttons were made from Sculpey and two molds that I created using some sort of vintage stick pins.  The buttons were baked, dusted with eye [...]
